Vector

Vector is a social robot created by Anki - the creators of Cozmo and Overdrive.

He is very animated and fluid. Character artists and animators were brought in from Pixar to work on him.

In 2019, Anki went bankrupt, and the IP eventually went to a company called Digital Dream Labs. They have not done a good job revitalizing the IP.

Eventually, in late 2024, all of Vector's code got leaked, then in 2025, the OTA signing passwords got leaked.

Since then, I have been working on WireOS, which is a custom firmware for Vector. I am to continue the Anki dream.

I open-source everything I do. My work is available here: os-vector

I also made wire-pod, which is a relatively popular piece of software widely used while Vector's servers were down.

The Food GRID

I do work for a non-profit called the Food GRID.

The goal of the Food GRID is to spread free food throughout central Iowa which anyone can take, no matter your poverty status.

We require community fridges for this. We buy fridges with money given to us via county grants.

Data, such as how often fridges are open, is good to have when applying for these grants.

I designed a small device which connects to Wi-Fi, attaches to the side of a fridge, and tells a cloud server whenever the fridge has been open.

I am still creating new generations of this device.
